TomTom

TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.

TomTom offers the following major features:

Set waypoints via command, or by clicking on the world map
A draggable coordinate display with customizable accuracy. This frame can be hidden or locked.
Player and cursor coordinates on the World Map (these can be hidden)
A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination
Displaying the "crazy-taxi" arrow or coordinate block in compatible LDB displays (such as NinjaPanel)
Show a waypoint that points you towards your corpse for easy recovery

/tomtom - Opens configuration GUI

In addition you can use the /way command to add and reset waypoints. In order to overcome conflicts with the Cartographer /way command, you can also use /tway to access TomTom's waypoint command. The following slash commands are available:

Add a new waypoint at 14.78, 23.90:

When you set a waypoint, a dot will appear (green) on your minimap. When it goes out of range of the minimap display, it will turn into an arrow, just like the default UI. You can mouse over these waypoints to get detailed information about that waypoint.

TomTom has been designed to publish the Crazy-Arrow and Coordinate Block as LDB feeds, allowing them to be displayed in compatible display addons. I've written a very simple, easy-to-configure panel that is capable of displaying these called NinjaPanel.

Ok, I'll give that a try. I guess Dalaran is its own "zone", and not just a location in Crystalsong Forest (per TomTom). I was being too strict in identifying zones, based on the main WoW map dropdown selector of zone names.

Code: /way Dalaran 46.19 69.64 ... the waypoint location is set correctly, right location, right zone, but the description is "Unknown". If I set the TomTom arrow waypoint manually by doing this... Code: /way 46.19 69.64 /way 46.19 69.64 Dalaran ... the waypoint is set to the right location for the current zone that I am in, but not the zone I wanted, but it does has the right description, "Dalaran". The "X" axis location is correct, but the "Y" axis location is in the current zone, and not for the zone I want. If I set the TomTom arrow waypoint manually by doing this... Code: /way Crystalsong Forest 46.19 69.64 Dalaran ... the waypoint is set to a DIFFERENT wrong location in the zone I am in. It actually sets it at a point where the road leaves the zone I'm in and enters the Crystalsong Forest zone. It seems like only the first setting works, but without a proper description. The "/way" help info states one of these should work... Code: /way <x> <y> [desc] /way <zone> <x> <y> [desc] Anyway, some clarification please on what is the right way to set a waypoint to a location in a particular zone with a particular description, and have the waypoint dot be at the actual location wanted. Last night, oddly, the only config pages visible under TomTom in the Interface panel were "General Options" and "Coordinate Block," no matter how many times I reloaded the interface or logged into alts. This morning, the full set of pages is there again. Very strange... but as it seems to have fixed itself, thanks anyway.

The option is most certainly still there and the only time the arrow will reset itself is when you load a character when the addon is disabled, then re-enable it and log into a character again. You'll need to provide more information.

Not without significant effort of my part that I don't have time for at the moment. Astrolabe (the library that I use to do most positioning) does not support instances. I've toyed with writing a new waypoint library, but I do not currently have time for that large of a project.
